Kite buggying - boarding: Ynyslas Wind Direction: wsw Wind Stength: 18-22 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Arrived at about 4 having jacked in the office early... Sand super smooth
and hard. Rigged 12M slingshot and realised immediately when trying to
depower in prep for launch that I'd screwed up replacing the chicken loop
line the other evening and depower ball was on the wrong side. Arrgghh
...ugger. After asking around fortunately one of the land-yachters had a
toolkit (many thanks guys) and after 20mins dismantling the whole thing it
was good to go. Nearly 4 hours of full on land boarding. The south-north
run was a broad reach and with super hard sand was faster than I have ever
been. Still must get one of those GPS gadgets to check speed. Certainly
felt very very fast. Bit gusty at times but the depower on the Slingshot
LEI made it managable. Should have tried getting out on the water really,
cos there were at least half a dozen out laterly, but a tough choice
between surefire fun on the landboard and the inevitable frustration as a
beginner on the water...
